(From Chapter 12: Good, Good Vibrations)

Happiness feels good. Appreciation and love feel good, too. And the good thing about “good feeling vibrations” is that they energetically align us to the things or experiences we desire. Thoughts that don’t feel good can be replaced with thoughts that do feel good. It’s that simple and it gets easier with practice.

Your negative feelings are like the rumble strips alongside the highway. They provide feedback that you have veered off course. You feel the roughness of the rumble strip, and you know to quickly re-align yourself back into your lane. If you didn’t heed this warning, you would be struggling with an unnecessarily rough ride, perhaps even a serious mishap. Just as responding to the rumble strips makes for a more enjoyable ride, responding to your negative feelings makes for a more enjoyable life.

Negative feelings are natural expressions and there are healthy ways to honor them without burying or ignoring them, or unleashing them on others. However, feeling sadness, frustration, anger, resentment, or any other troublesome feelings and staying there for days is like hitting the rumble strip and staying there for miles. Think about it, you just wouldn’t do that. You would make a few adjustments to get back in your lane.

Why not do more “joy-riding” down the roads of your life by traveling in alignment with your good feelings. The effort you expend in shifting to more positive thoughts, to good feeling vibrations, is directly proportional to how peaceful your life will be.
